Written by Willy Russell
Directed by Sarah O’Connor
A DRAMA
The original and non-musical play version of Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers, later turned into one of the most iconic and successful musicals of all time, tells the tale of twin brothers and what happens when their mother decides to have one of them adopted. Their contrasting upbringing and the hand fate deals them is fast-moving, perceptive and ultimately tragic.
Containing the song “Marilyn Monroe” and with a different ending to the musical version, this stripped back telling of the much-loved story is full of surprises, joyous and uplifting, but deeply heart rending, as it hurtles towards its tragic end.
This amateur production of Blood Brothers (Play Version) is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.
